What is LinkedIn's Social Selling Index (SSI)?
Last updated:
Definition
Social Selling Index (SSI): LinkedIn's 0–100 score measuring how well you use the platform to build relationships and surface opportunities, visible at linkedin.com/sales/ssi.
SSI scores four dimensions out of 25 each: establishing your professional brand, finding the right people, engaging with insights, and building relationships. Ways to lift it: post regularly, comment thoughtfully, accept relevant inbound, complete your profile.
What does the SSI score measure?
LinkedIn describes SSI as a score from 0 to 100 showing how well a seller uses LinkedIn for social selling. It reflects four activities: establishing a professional brand, finding the right people, engaging with insights, and building relationships. You can see your own score at linkedin.com/sales/ssi while signed in.
How do you improve your SSI?
Work on each of the four areas: complete your profile and post useful content, use search to find people who fit your market, comment on and share relevant posts, and connect with and reply to people in your target accounts. Treat the score as a habit tracker; the goal is conversations, not the number.
Does SSI affect LinkedIn limits?
LinkedIn doesn't publish any link between SSI and invitation limits or restrictions. Its invitation-restriction page points instead to behaviour: sending many invitations quickly, and invitations being ignored, left pending or marked as spam. A strong profile and relevant targeting help acceptance, which is what protects an account.
