Can ChatGPT run LinkedIn outreach?
Last updated:
Short answer
ChatGPT can't send LinkedIn messages by itself, but it can run outreach through a tool that connects to it. With LinkedCamp's published ChatGPT plugin, ChatGPT drafts campaigns, writes sequences, checks results and triages replies. LinkedCamp does the sending from a dedicated IP within limits, and launches wait for your confirmation.
How it works
ChatGPT reaches LinkedCamp through LinkedCamp's MCP server, the same remote server at mcp.linkedcamp.com/mcp that Claude and other assistants use. You add the published LinkedCamp plugin in ChatGPT and sign in on LinkedCamp's authorization page with your LinkedCamp API key. ChatGPT then sees LinkedCamp's 133 tools and picks the ones your request needs.
- Build: create a draft campaign, turn an ideal-customer description into LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search criteria, and write the LinkedIn and email steps.
- Check: pull campaign, account and daily reporting, plus each sending account's limits and health.
- Triage: summarise unread replies, draft answers and flag anyone asking for a meeting.
- Launch: show you the audience and the steps, then launch only after you confirm in the chat.
What to watch out for
- ChatGPT acts with the permissions of the key you sign in with. A client's key reaches that client; an agency owner key reaches every client sub-account.
- Sending a message is a destructive tool: your assistant must ask, and you must confirm, every time.
- Automated outreach carries account risk whoever drives it, so it's used at your own risk. An assistant doesn't change that; the sending tool's limits do.
- Whether your ChatGPT workspace allows plugins or custom connectors is set by OpenAI and your workspace admin, so check your own settings.
How LinkedCamp does it
The sending stays inside LinkedCamp. Every LinkedIn account sends from its own dedicated IP on every plan, within smart limits, and new accounts start at 10 invitations a day and ramp up over four weeks. Of the 133 tools, 64 are read-only and 69 change data, 28 of them destructive (such as launching a campaign), and those ask you first. MCP is included on Turbo, Pro and Agency.
To stop, remove the LinkedCamp connector in ChatGPT and rotate your LinkedCamp API key. Rotation invalidates every token created with the old key.

Key terms
- Agentic LinkedIn automation
- Outreach software that AI agents can operate, not just software with AI features. An assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude calls the tool's functions to build audiences, launch campaigns, triage replies and report results, with a person approving changes. LinkedCamp does this through its MCP server and built-in agents.
- MCP (Model Context Protocol)
- An open standard for connecting AI applications to external tools and data. An MCP server exposes named tools with inputs and safety labels, and an MCP client such as ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor discovers and calls them. One server works across every compatible client.
- MCP server
- A service that exposes a product's capabilities to AI clients over the Model Context Protocol. LinkedCamp's MCP server runs at mcp.linkedcamp.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP and offers 133 tools for campaigns, leads, inbox, analytics, AI agents and sub-accounts, authenticated by OAuth or API key.
